Vital Documentation &

Becoming the Protective

Parent: A Series of 3 Workshops

WELCOME to the second offering in a series of presentations, workshops, and classes on the ABCs of Separation, Divorce, Family Court, and Protective Parenting

This collaboration is between Kaia Alline of Family Cult Recovery and Anuhea Nakoma of Protective Parent Consulting.

No matter what way you look at separation or divorce,

it's not easy.

Whether you're in a partnership that you're questioning, feeling the desire to get out of one, or you've left and are wondering 'now what?' - it's easy to feel overwhelmed with the experience.

We have been there - we get it. With years of collective experience in grief, trauma, communication, documentation, divorce, safety planning, family court, co-parenting and the legal aspects of it all, we bring expertise, experience and support with one goal in mind:

Give you tools to acquire the freedom you desire.

3 Workshops

  • Each of these Workshops includes the unique opportunity to work with us on your specific documentation. Following each workshop, we will guide you in the creation of a Safety Plan, Parenting Plan and communications between you and your ex or legal team.

  • What kinds of documentation are needed for separation, divorce and custody arrangements?
  • Who needs a safety plan and what exactly is it?
  • What does it mean to be a Protective Parent and what does it have to do with the documentation process post-separation?
  • What's the difference between a divorce agreement and a parenting plan?
  • Is there anything I can do to keep from panicking every time I get a message from my ex?
  • What exactly do I need to document and why?
  • How do I know which questions are relevant to ask my attorney?

Our solution for these questions:

  1. Understand the emotional components of what you've been through and are going through.
  2. Gather the facts about your current situation.
  3. Get support, tools and expertise to guide you through the process.
  4. Create plans to support your action steps.
  5. Feel empowered in your actions and reclaim your self worth, trust and freedom.

This workshop addresses all of these questions and more, and will equip you with everything you need to move forward even through fear.

What is a Safety Plan, who needs one and how to implement it to protect yourself and your children, as well as the ins and out of Orders of Protection and Temporary Orders, what's the difference, how & when to obtain one.

An overview of what is a Protective Parent, its historical context within the courts, why it's important & how to establish yourself as one.

What needs to be included in a Parenting Plan, how to navigate the implementation, when to make changes, how this document provides safety for your children & drives all other documentation.

The many types of documentation, what can be used in court, the importance of effective communication & documentation post-separation and how to utilize the time and resources of your attorney to the fullest.
